Swedish Guests Enjoy Adventure Tourism in Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park
2025.01.31A tour of Sweden produced by TAS was featured in the Yaeyama Nippo newspaper in Okinawa Prefecture.
The tour was organized by an association of people who were originally doctors in Sweden, and were retired and touring Japan as a group. A total of 33 people stayed on Ishigaki Island for 4 nights.
The tour visited Iriomote Ishigaki National Park as a “new tourist destination” after touring Tokyo and Kyoto, the big cities.
During the four-night stay on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, we incorporated a variety of local food, drink, and hands-on content.
First, the group will visit Banna Park, Kabira Bay, Yaima Village, Ishigaki Island limestone caves, and other “standard courses”. Especially, we visited Iriomote Island, a World Natural Heritage site, to enjoy adventure tourism in Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park, including hiking in the jungle and having lunch at a local restaurant.
Initially, the clients asked us to guide them to a different kind of beach resort, full of nature, quiet, and clean.
We guided them to Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, and as a result, “We got quality service at a reasonable price! The tour was very well received.
We will continue to increase tourism content utilizing national parks and contribute to the revitalization of local communities. We would also like to deepen our cooperation with local governments to attract more tourists to the region and expand the potential for the growth and development of the city.
