The initiative aimed to attract inbound travelers from Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City to Nagano Prefecture. As part of this effort, tourism seminars and business meetings were organized to promote Nagano’s tourism resources and unique attractions to leading local travel agencies in both countries.

A total of 19 businesses from Nagano Prefecture participated in this project, along with 40 travel agencies from Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City, 6 media representatives, 3 airlines, and government officials.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and supported this initiative.

Through projects such as this, we will continue to promote the appeal of the region to international markets and strive to further enhance our services in order to increase inbound tourism to Japan.

During the exhibition, our team held business meetings with 74 major European travel agencies, primarily from the United Kingdom, along with strong interest from Spanish-speaking regions and Eastern Europe. Notably, approximately 60% of inquiries were related to FIT (Free Independent Travel), highlighting the growing demand for customized individual travel.

We also observed a particularly strong trend in mid- to upper-segment FIT travel. TAS arranged and conducted pre-scheduled appointments with around 30 companies, proceeding fully according to plan. Our ability to communicate in Spanish and our use of detailed maps of Japan during explanations were especially well received.

Moving forward, we will continue participating in events like this to promote the unique attractions of various regions to international markets, strengthen our global presence, and contribute to increasing inbound travel to Japan. Representatives from Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City arrived via Vietnam Airlines at Chubu Centrair International Airport and stayed in Hamamatsu and Shizuoka, where they experienced the region’s unique cultural and natural attractions.

Highlights included a Japanese confectionery workshop, sake brewery visit, tea ceremony, and a tour of the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, offering a deep cultural experience.

Following the trip, the participating agencies are expected to develop new Japan tour packages for the Vietnamese market.

TTG Rimini is one of Italy’s largest and most influential international travel trade fairs, bringing together outbound tourism professionals from around the world, including travel agencies, DMCs, and tour operators. The 2024 edition welcomed more than 75,000 visitors, and its significance continues to grow each year.

Thanks to close collaboration with the JNTO Rome Office, we were able to hold business meetings with approximately 70 travel industry professionals from Italy and other countries. The event not only enabled us to build new partnerships but also served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with overseas clients who already use our services.

Through this exhibition, we are confident that TAS has taken an important step toward new growth. We will continue to embrace new challenges as we work to promote the魅力 of Japan to audiences around the world.

Aiming to further expand inbound tourism demand, Shizuoka Prefecture and Hamamatsu City conducted on-site sales activities in Hanoi and Da Nang, Vietnam, in collaboration with our company. During this initiative, we held individual business meetings with key figures from several major local travel agencies specializing in travel to Japan, including Vietnam Airlines, exchanging opinions on the development of multi-destination travel packages and tourism promotion.

The main topics discussed included promoting multi-destination travel for foreign tourists, strengthening visitor attraction to the Hamamatsu area, and revitalizing the local economy. Additionally, we advanced discussions on planning and developing new travel products targeting Shizuoka Prefecture and Hamamatsu City as destinations, as well as enhancing the recognition of tourism brands in both regions.

The Vietnamese market is attracting attention as a promising source of inbound travelers with anticipated future growth. Through these sales activities, we have laid the groundwork for strengthening collaboration with local travel agencies and expanding market development.

Moving forward, based on the business discussions, we aim to implement promotional measures and improve the reception environment to continuously increase visitor numbers.

We will continue to enhance our services through such initiatives to promote the region’s appeal overseas and contribute to sending more inbound tourists.

Finally, after about 45 minutes, a sign tells me the entrance is near: Nihonji (日本寺) is
just a few steps away from where I stand.
To my right, the imposing calm and sacred zeal of the colossal stone Daibutsu (大仏)
leave me speechless, sitting twice higher than Kamakura Buddha.
This Buddhist temple is located on the western side of Mount Nokogiri, which itself
spans three provinces in Chiba Prefecture, on the opposite side of Tokyo Bay.
